Public Opinion

Since independence, every leader who has come to power in our country has always promised one thing — the upliftment of the poor. But even after all these years, I still fail to understand why no one has succeeded in achieving this goal. The poor are still grappling with the same problems they faced decades ago.

This raises a critical question: where are we going wrong? While we have certainly made progress in some areas — no doubt about that — perhaps it hasn’t happened at the pace it should have. Maybe we failed to elect the right leaders, or maybe we failed to evolve our mindset with the changing times. But one thing is clear to me now: if we continue at the same pace, with the same thoughts and systems, we will neither be able to uplift the poor nor move the country forward.

At times, it feels like democracy is being misused more than it is being used for the right reasons.

Even after so many years of independence, we still haven't been able to eliminate corruption completely — and to me, that’s a huge failure.

Where is the taxpayers' money going? Most people still have no idea.

Why are traffic rules still not properly followed outside metro cities?

Why are people still afraid of visiting government offices?

Why do the poor still have no real voice?

Why are social workers becoming richer, while the poor keep getting poorer?

There are countless such questions that remain unanswered in the minds of the public even today.
